THE ANNUAL BCMAMS RAFT RACE

In the 70's - 90's a group called the Jaycees started "the Battle Creek Raft Race". 6 years ago we decided to bring it back. The annual BCMAMS Raft Race is a DIY Raft Competition, A summer fun festival on the banks of the river, a rubber duck race, and most importantly a FUNdraiser. The only DIY raft requirements are no motors or environmentally compromising materials. We want to protect our river!

THE 2019 BCMAMS RAFT RACE

The 7th Annual Raft Race was a great success! Although we had questionable weather leading up to the event, Mother Nature was able to provide us with a beautiful day for the Raft Race.

The water level was higher and the current faster than in typical years, but approximately 50 people braved the abnormal conditions.

The Battle Creek Fire Department showered the rafts, inflatables, and kayaks with water from their truck atop the Helmer Rd. bridge. Everyone was having a great time.

Despite the river conditions, we were still able to orchestrate the rubber duck race. We sold 625 Ducks, which raised over $2,700 for Kambly Living Center, not considering the additional funds raised from the event.

We had plenty of prizes for the raft contestants and rubber duck race winners, and the pie-eating contest certainly didn't disappoint. The Gator Boys, Barefoot Blonde, and Allie Garland w/Awesome Sauce rocked us all day keeping us entertained and left us wanting more.

7th Annual BCMAMS Raft Race June 22, 2019
The Event Runs 12:00pm - 6:30(ish)pm. Live music / games / hot food / hot dudes / cold beer / duck races / sundresses / pie eating and probably some moustaches. Come join us, bring your friends, bring your family, bring a crafty raft, all for charity and jubilation, Proceeds benefit Kambly Living Center of Battle Creek.

Build your own raft or use and flotation device. If you don't have anything to float down the river we have you covered. A variety of inflatables will be available for sale at the raft race. Price $20.00

2018 BCMAMS RAFT RACE

The 6th Annual BCMAMS 2018 Raft Race was another success! The weather wasn't perfect, but we still had a great turnout from the community.

The raft race in the Battle Creek river had rafts, inflatables, and a lot of smiling faces. With the help of the Battle Creek Fire Department we even had an occasional rain shower, heavy at times.

We had our annual duck race to raise money for charity. This year’s recipientt is Kambly Living Center. They are truly a worthy organization and a great partner.

Have you ever seen a group of adults and kids see just how fast you can eat a pie without using your hands? The contest is a fan favorite. Everyone was laughing and rooting them on. The contestants gave it their all and came up “messy"!

The mams would like to thank everyone who helped make this annual event for charity a success. The volunteers, sponsors, food and beer vendors, and the bands kept everyone entertained.

The BCMAMS are happy to announce that we were able to raise over $4000 for Kambly Living Center as the proceeds from our annual raft race event. As always it was such a pleasure and honor to work with Kambly Living Center as this year’s beneficiary.

The BCMAMS believe in the great work Kambly does, which makes them such a great organization for the beneficiary of our event.

The 5th Annual BCMAMS 2017 Raft Race was a HUGE success! The weather was perfect, and we had a great turnout from the community.

We are very proud that this years Raft Race proceeds were nearly $6,000 for Kambly Living Center. They are truly a worthy organization and a great partner.
